สหภาพยุโรปได้รับจดหมายของกลุ่มเสรีประชาธิปไตย นักเรียนไทยในยุโรปแล้ว รับทราบความกังกลเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ประชาธิปไตยและการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศไทย และยืนยันว่าสหภาพยุโรปกำลังจับตาดูการชุมนุมโดยสันติของกลุ่มเยาวชนซึ่งเป็นการใช้สิทธิขั้นฐานของพวกเขาอย่างใกล้ชิด
ทั้งนี้ สหภาพยุโรปสนับสนุนและยืนยันเสรีภาพในการแสดงออก การชุมนุม และการข่าวสาร อันเป็นหลักสากลและเป็นหลักที่ปรากฎในรัฐธรรมนูญไทย
หมายเหตุ: กลุ่มเสรีประชาธิปไตย นักเรียนไทยในยุโรป ได้ยื่นจดหมายเปิดผนึกไปยังสหภาพยุโรปเรียกร้องให้จับตาการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนและแนวโน้มการทำรัฐประหารในประเทศไทย เมื่อวันที่ 5 พฤศจิกายน 2560
Following our letter to the EU about the current political turmoil in Thailand on the 5th of November 2020, we have received its response. The EU is concerned about the situation and supports the students movement. The main statements are as followed,
- The EU closely follows the recent development in Thailand including the protests of young people in Thailand.
- The EU supports the fundamental freedoms of expression, assembly and the media, according to ICCPR and the Constitution of Thailand.

We would like to thank you for your recent letter addressed to the President of the European Council, Mr Charles Michel, bringing to our attention your concerns about the situation of democracy and human rights in Thailand in the light of the recent anti- government protests. I was asked to respond to your letter on behalf of the President of the European Council.
Please be assured that the European Union is following closely recent developments in Thailand, including the recent protests in which tens of thousands of young people peacefully exercised their fundamental rights to assemble and express their opinions.
The European Union supports the fundamental freedoms of expression, assembly and of the media, as enshrined in the universally-applicable International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and in the Constitution of Thailand.
