What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect information about you for 3 reasons: 1) to process your request, 2) to response to any queries which you may have, and 3) to share with partners which can response to your request.

Our website uses “Google Analytics” to collect information about the use of our site. Survey form

We use Typeform.com to collect the survery data. Typeform is a provider of a service, and not the owner of the collected data. You can see the complete full privacy policy from Typeform.com from here. The data collection by Typeform.com is processed through:

  • All data is hosted on Amazon’s AWS service. Our main servers are located in Virginia, USA and backup servers are located in Frankfurt, Germany. You can read more about AWS here. We fully comply with the EU-US Privacy Shield which protects EU consumer rights when data is shared between the EU and US.
  • All Typeform employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
  • TLS is used to secure all data in transit.

The cookies Typeform uses are small text files that store data made available by your web browser, such as language preference. This information helps us give you a better experience.

  • Cookies do not provide us with any personally identifiable information.
  • You can change or block cookies in your browser settings.
  • Cookies do not harm your computer or impact your online security.

Survey data

We do not collect personal information which can be anything that identifies an individual.

  • Your Survey Data is your given information: country and opionion. We will only process it to analyse and publish the situation of COVID-19 crisis.
  • For all other information, we will only use the information that you provide to us or that we collect about you as described in this privacy policy, including to provide the information about the situation and impacts of COVID-19 on the website, social-media and for the partners.
  • We may use your information to evaluate and analyse the situation of COVID-19 by using the statistics collected from the provided data.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
